  • Anthony Ferreri, President and CEO of Staten Island University Hospital, has taken on the additional role of Regional Executive Director for the Western Region of the North Shore-LIJ Health System.
  • In 2014, Staten Island University Hospital was awarded full accreditation with Commendation for the next three years by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
  • In 2013, Staten Island University Hospital was re-awarded the lead agency contract to manage and oversee the NYSDOH Cancer Services Program of Staten Island during the 2013-2018 grant period. The Cancer Service Program offers comprehensive breast, cervical, and colorectal cancer screening, education, and diagnostic services to eligible uninsured and underinsured Staten Island residents.

  • In 2013, The Joint Commission, the nation's top accrediting body for healthcare organizations, recognized SIUH for exemplary performance in heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.
  • In 2013, the National Research Corporation, which specializes in health care performance measurement and improvement, awarded SIUH with the Consumer Choice Award. SIUH was one of only 15 hospitals to receive the award in New York State.
  • Received Silver in the Category of "Best Mobile Communications" for a Hospital with 400+ Beds at the 2013 eHealthcare Leadership Awards.
