For Community

Staten Island University Hospital offers a wide variety of lectures, support groups, health screenings and programs for patients and their families at both our North and South campuses and in the local community.

For highlights of upcoming hospital offerings and health-related events throughout the borough, please visit the Events section of this website.

In addition to our hospital helping the community, there are ways for the community to give back to help the hospital.

Philanthropy has a rich tradition at SIUH. Memorial gifts and donations from our donors have made it possible for us to develop programs, improve the hospitals' infrastructure, and recruit the best possible staff while maintaining the highest standards of care that our growing community has come to expect.

Each year, the demand for life-saving blood in our community increases. SIUH welcomes blood donations at our monthly community blood drives as well as at our on-site Donor Room.

If you are interested in volunteering at SIUH, please check the Volunteer Opportunities section for more information. In 2012 over 900 individuals volunteered at SIUH, giving a total of more than 100,000 hours of service.

SIUH is the largest employer of individuals on Staten Island, with more than 7,000 people on staff, 1,200 physicians and more than 1,150 nurses. Visit the Career Opportunities section to view all job listings within the hospital.
