What is Managed Care?

Managed Care is the active coordination of health care services to individuals, at a reasonable cost, through arrangements with doctors and healthcare providers.

As the largest hospital system in Richmond County, and as a member-hospital of the Northwell Health System, Staten Island University Hospital enjoys relationships withover seventy (70) health insurance plans and products. In fact, when compared to other providers, University Hospital has more diverse managed care experience than any other provider on the Island.
