Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Internal Medicine Residency Program at Staten Island University Hospital

Dental Medicine

Staten Island University Hospital's Department of Dental Medicine general practice, obtaining accreditation for their Residency program in 1970 and their Pediatric Residency program in 2005 by the American Dental Association since 1970, has expanded into a major teaching service and provides the wide range of services listed to the right.

The services are performed by both the active Attending Staff and the Dental Resident Staff. Eligible patients are those covered by Medicaid, the medically indigent, medically compromised, mentally retarded, and developmentally disabled patients. Others may be eligible: eligibility will be determined by an interview with the patient or caregiver.

In addition to routine services, the Department of Dental Medicine offers the following Special Care Services:

  • Dentistry of the Developmentally Disabled
  • Dentistry for the Medically Compomised
  • Craniomandibular Disorders TMJ / Facial Pain
  • Cleft Lip and Palate Team
  • Implant Dentistry
  • GENERAL DENTISTRY Preventive Care and Fillings
  • ORAL SURGERY Extractions / Treatment of Fractures
  • PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY Children's Dentistry
  • PROSTHODONTICS Dentures and Bridges
  • ENDODONTICS Root Canal Therapy
  • PERIODONTICS Gum Treatments
