Gastroenterology & Nutrition
The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology offers specialized care for a broad spectrum of medical conditions involving the gastrointestinal tract, liver, pancreas, and for disorders of nutrition. Our program offers state-of-the-art comprehensive diagnostic evaluation, therapy and follow-up of children from birth to 21 years of age.

- Gastroesophagial reflux evaluation and management
- Dietary education including "Healthy Diet" introduction for children and parents
In cases where examination of the gastrointestinal tract through a tiny fiberoptic camera called an endoscope is required, this service is skillfully provided in a child-friendly environment. Expert consultation is available for in-patients at Staten Island University Hospital and ambulatory patients at the Children's Subspecialty Center.

Misha Tyshkov, MD Medical Director, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Program
Dr. Tyshkov received his Medical Degree from Ekaterinburg, Medical School in Sverdkovsk, Russia. He completed an internship in Pediatric Surgery at Nassau County Medical Center, East Meadows, NY and a Pediatric Residency at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York, where he was the Cheif Pediatric Resident. He completed a fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition at New York Medical College, Valhalla, New York. He is board certified in both Pediatrics and Pediatrics Gastroenterology and Nutrition. His award and recognitions include American Top Pediatricians in Consumer Reports, Best Doctor in NY-Pedicatrics Gastroenterology, New York Magazine, Best Doctor, New York Magazine, and Parent Choice Award.
Carlotta Hample, MD Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition
Dr. Hample received her Medical Degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Philidelphia, Pennsylvania; She also completed her Pediatric Residency Training from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, Philidelphia, Pennsylvania. She completed her Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellowship at Children's National Medical Center, Washington, D.C.
