Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology offers the full range of services  using radiation for all patients, from pediatric to adult. Our linear accelerators  provide IMRT, IGRT, electromagnetic tracking and robotic table adjustments.

We perform a full range of radioactive implants (brachytherapy) from HDR out-patient treatment to permanent prostate implants and intraoperative  work. Our focused radiation program can perform stereotactic radiosurgery  (SRS) and body radiosurgery (SBRT) all in a convenient out-patient  setting.

For your safety, we have the most full time physicists on Staten  Island ensuring your treatment is correct. Our therapists are all certified.

The Radiation Oncology Department was recently awarded a three-year term of accreditation as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).  SIUH is one of only 16 accredited radiation oncology sites in New York City, and 293 nationwide.
