What is Hand Therapy?

Hand Therapy is a service that restores function to the hand or arm after an injury. Our programs help patients with:
  • Amputations
  • Arthritis/other Rheumatic Diseases
  • Burns
  • Chronic Pain
  • Crush Injuries
  • Cumulative Trauma
  • Fractures
  • Lacerations
  • Lymphedema
  • Nerve compession - Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and other compression conditions.
  • Tendonitis, tennis elbow
  • Tendon, ligament, and nerve injuries
  • Other conditions affecting the upper extermity
Our services are specific to individual needs. Services are provided by experienced Occupational Therapists/Certified Hand Therapists and include:
  • Custom-made splints
  • Desensitization
  • Joint and soft tissue mobilization
  • Pain Management
  • Patient education/instruction in home program
  • Scar management
  • Sensory re-education
  • Exercise and activities
  • Therapeutic modalities
  • Work simulation
  • Wound care/Scar remodeling
