Gibbs completed her B.S. in Applied Anatomy and Physiology at Boston
University,
Boston,
Massachusetts
. She received her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her general surgery residency and minimally invasive &
bariatric surgery fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr.
Gibbs is Board-Certified in General Surgery. She is a Fellow of the
American
College
of Surgeons and member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, the Society of
Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons.
Dr. Gibbs is the Program Director of Bariatric and Minimally Invasive Surgery, and also the Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Gibbs has participated in numerous research efforts spanning the areas of Minimally Invasive and Bariatric Surgery. She has presented both nationally and internationally in the field. Dr. Gibbs' clinical interests include minimally invasive bariatric, foregut surgery, and endocrine surgery. She has also collaborated with many other surgical disciplines and has been involved in minimally invasive surgical education.
