Division of Colon & Rectal Surgery

The specialists within the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery are dedicated to the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant disorders of the colon, rectum and anus.

The team of experts at Staten Island University Hospital utilize state-of-the-art technologies such as Endorectal ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT Colonoscopy (virtual colonoscopy) to assist with diagnosing a full spectrum of colon and rectal disorders. 

The highly skilled surgeons in the Division offer a variety of minimally invasive (laparoscopic) surgical options that are designed to minimize pain and discomfort as well as shorten recovery time.

Our physicians work as part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of radiologists, pathologists, medical oncologists , radiation oncologists as well as social workers, nutritionists and genetic counselors .  This multi-specialty team approach ensures that our patients receive personalized care and achieve the best possible outcome.
