Dr. Hwang is a native of Hyde Park, New York. She earned her undergraduate degree from Cornell University where she studied neurobiology and behavior and served as teaching assistant in both biochemistry and general biology, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2001. She then studied medicine at New York University School of Medicine where she served as teaching assistant in physiology, earning the Homer Smith Physiology Award for Excellence in Physiology.
Dr. Hwang is a member of several national medical organizations including the American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Society of Neuroradiology, the American Association for Women Radiologists and the Radiologic Society of North America. She has authored electronic presentations shown at multiple radiology conferences.
Dr. Hwang particularly enjoys her roles in residency education and working as a team with the internists, neurologists and neurosurgeons in providing excellent medical care for Staten Island residents. She lives in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, with her husband and two children.
