    Physician Bio

    Dr. Jonathan Deitch is the Chief of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and Associate Chairman of the Department of Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Deitch completed medical school at New York Medical College where he graduated in Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He did his surgical residency at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York where he received the Leo Davidoff teaching award and performed subspecialty training at Wake Forest Medical Center in North Carolina where he was exposed to a wide variety of complex aortic and

    aortic branch pathology. Prior to being recruited to NY Presbyterian Hospital, where he was an attending surgeon for four years, he did an endovascular subspecialty fellowship. He served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at SUNY Downstate and most recently was the Chief of Vascular Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

    Dr. Deitch is a member of most of the major vascular societies including the Society for Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society, Eastern Vascular Surgical Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Southern Association of Vascular Surgery and is the current president of the New York Vascular Surgical Society. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery and is on the editorial board for The Open Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Journal. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented both regionally and nationally. Dr. Deitch has a clinical interest in aortic pathology, aortic branch and carotid disease. He routinely performs minimally invasive procedures for limb salvage. Dr. Deitch has been recognized as a New York Top Doctor, as well as one of the New York Times Magazine’s Superdoctors.
