    Physician Bio

    As the Director of Research for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. Nabagiez is actively involved in research pertaining to cardiac surgery outcomes and presents at national and local meetings. Dr. Nabagiez evaluates and treats all diseases of the heart, aorta, lungs and chest requiring surgery, with a particular interest in minimally invasive management of lung diseases. As a faculty attending he is directly involved in physician, nurse, physician assistant and medical student education.

    Dr. Nabagiez received his medical degree at Albany Medical College. He went on to do a general surgery residency at Staten Island University Hospital and a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at Albert Einstein Medical College/Montefiore Medical Center. He is board certified in General and Thoracic Surgery. He joined the Staten Island University Hospital Cardiothoracic Surgery team upon completion of his fellowship at Montefiore in 2001.
