Dr. Hanna trained at Yale- New Haven Hospital for diagnostic radiology and completed her dual fellowship in muculoskeletal imaging and breast imaging. In these two areas of expertise, she utilizes the latest techniques in practice including breast imaging and biopsy. Dr. Hanna completed her transitional year of residency at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center in Syracuse, New York, followed by her radiology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospial where she was the recipient of a research award in 2009. During her fellowship training at Yale, Dr. Hanna became proficient with arthrograms, as well as minimally invasive breast biopsies.
Certified by the American Board of Radiology in 2011, Dr. Shirley Hanna joined the Staten Island University Hospital faculty in 2012 after completing her fellowship in musculoskeletal and breast imaging at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Hanna graduated Magna Cum Laude from Seton Hall University after earning several awards. She then attended medical school at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) where she was a member of the AQA, the National Medical Honor Society, as well as the Gold Humanism Honor Society.
