    Physician Bio

    Dr. Schulz earned his PhD in biochemistry from Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, followed by his medical degree from Yale University in New Haven, CT. He then moved to Boston where he completed his general surgery residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. In 1997 he joined the surgical attending staff at Massachusetts General as a burn, trauma, and general surgeon. After 8 years on the staff at MGH, he moved to Connecticut, assuming the role of Chief, Burns/ Trauma/Surgical Critical Care at Bridgeport Hospital and site director for the Yale Surgical Residency. In 2008 he was also named Medical Director of the Connecticut Burn Unit and Associate Chair of Surgery.

    Dr. Schulz is currently the Director of the Division of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care and the Associate Director of Burns. He has received multiple resident and medical student teaching awards and his research interests have been most recently focused on the critical care of burn patients.
