    Physician Bio

    After finishing his medical education at King Edward Medical University in Pakistan, Dr. Saqib Zia completed basic surgical training at Whipps Cross University Hospital in London, UK, and passed membership examinations in the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He completed his general surgery internship at the University of Virginia followed by residency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Zia’s vascular and endovascular surgery fellowship was completed at Staten Island University Hospital, where he earned such honors as the Top Gun Vascular Surgery Award from the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery.

    Dr. Zia is board certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation (RPVI) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS). He is a member of various societies, including the American College of Surgeons, Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Eastern Vascular Society, New York Society for Vascular Surgery and International Society of Endovascular Specialists. Dr. Zia has presented his research at numerous international, national and regional meetings, and has authored peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has served as a mentor and faculty member for the Society for Vascular Surgery resident and student outreach committee programs.
