STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Let the change of seasons inspire healthy changes in your own life.

The fourth annual Staten Island Health & Wellness Expo will be held Sept. 27, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield.

The free expo will give residents the chance to understand ways to live a healthier life, to eat better and add fitness to their regimens. Screenings for blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol will be offered.

There will be demonstrations of pilates, zumba and spinning presented by Staten Island Pilates, the YMCA and the Jewish Community Center.

The speakers include Michael Dowling, CEO of Northshore Long Island Jewish Health System, and FDNY Commissioner Salvatore Cassano.

Vendors’ tables, priced at $750, are still available.

In addition, Staten Island University Hospital is holding its second annual Community Health Heroes Awards in conjunction with the event; nomination forms are available at healthysi.org, and the deadline is Aug. 31. Nominees must live or work in the borough.

The board chair for the Health and Wellness Expo is Anthony C. Ferreri, president and CEO of University Hospital, and the ambassador is Chris Williams of Williams Eye Works.
