New report says SIUH is a Five-Star Hospital

SIUH Earns Five Stars for Quality & Value

Staten Island, NY — Staten Island University Hospital has achieved national recognition as a Community Value Five-Star Hospital according to a report issued recently by Cleverley + Associates (Columbus, OH), a healthcare leader specializing in operational benchmarking and performance enhancement strategies.

“We are proud to receive this highest rating for the fourth year in a row,” said Thomas Reca, CFO of Staten Island University Hospital. The Cleverley + report serves as objective confirmation that we are providing quality care while being financially accountable to our patients and community.”

“With the topic of hospital value becoming increasingly important, Cleveley’s 2012 State of the Hospital Industry Report offers an objective measurable assessment based on a hospital’s financial viability, reinvestment back into the facility, maintenance of a low cost structure, having reasonable charges and providing high quality care,” said Steve Gilgen, the firm’s CFO.

The report, written by William O. Cleverley, Ph.D. a noted expert in healthcare finance, measures hospital financial performance over the most recent three-year period.
