STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island University Hospital will honor family doctor Louis Gianvito at its Golf and Tennis Classic Monday, Sept. 24, at the Richmond County Country Club, Dongan Hills.

Board certified in family practice and geriatrics, Dr. Gianvito has treated generations of families around the borough — from his West Brighton office on Castleton Avenue to the old Staten Island Hospital, later Staten Island University Hospital, and University Physicians Group on Forest Avenue in West Brighton.

He retired in July of this year at age 85.

The golf outing will begin with morning registration at 6 a.m. for a 7 a.m. shotgun start. Afternoon golf and tennis will begin with 11 a.m. registration, followed by a luncheon and a 12:30 p.m. shotgun start for golf and 1 p.m. tennis tournament.

A reception at 4 p.m. will be followed by dinner.

Cost of play and dinner for each golfer is $450; tennis is $250. Dinner only is $150.

Golf foursome packages inclusive of sponsor signage, special recognition at the dinner program and a tee sign is $2,500. Journal and sponsorship opportunities range from $300 to $25,000. You may email journal messages or phone 718-226-6331.
