2 SIUH doctors to be honored at Casino Night Oct. 18
Staten Island's Joseph Maffeo Foundation to honor 'Angels' at Casino Night
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Joseph Maffeo Foundation will host Casino Night on Friday, Oct. 18, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield. The event will include a buffet dinner, open bar, $50 in game chips and a silent auction. Featured games of chance include blackjack, roulette, craps, let it ride, money wheel, Texas Hold'em tournament and a 50/50 big bucks raffle. For their passion for their work and tireless commitment to the community, the "Staten Island Angel Award" will be presented to Staten Island University Hospital's Dr. Cynara Coomer, chief of Breast Surgery and director of the Comprehensive Breast Program, and
Dr. Carolyn Raia, associate chair of the Radiology Department and director of the Breast Imaging Center. The doctors' integrity, sincerity, compassion and selflessness is evident on a daily basis and the foundation is proud to name them "Angels."
Proceeds will benefit the development of The Florina Rusi-Marke Comprehensive Breast Center at University Hospital.
The Joseph Maffeo Foundation, named after a hero firefighter lost in the 9/11 attacks, raises money for University Hospital programs and projects.
