STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Staten Island University Hospital's gala 131st annual Charity Ball will be held Saturday, April 27, at the Hilton Garden Inn, Bloomfield. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., will honor the SIUH Service Auxiliary, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. Tickets are $400 per person and reservations are required. Journal sponsorships are available. For ticket information, reservations and journal subscription forms, call the Office of Development at 718-226-6331.

Husband-and-wife teams Dr. Cynara Coomer and Dr. Jonathan Dietch and Dr. Carolyn Raia and Dr. Douglas DeCorato are chairing the gala.

In keeping with Charity Ball tradition, proceeds of this year's event will go toward a much-needed service, the new Comprehensive Breast Center, whose mission is to offer comprehensive and compassionate care to patients with a range of breast diseases.

Within the last five years, the Service Auxiliary has donated over $250,000 in support of the Elizabeth A. Connelly Emergency and Trauma Center, the renovation of the pediatric unit and funds for the Bereavement Garden and colorectal screening programs.
