Get Cooking with SIUH Doctors
Three chances to attend Cooking Demo/Wine Pairing
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Staten Island University Hospital Service Auxiliary and Staten Island Chapter, New York State Women, Inc., will jointly host a Cooking Demonstration/Wine Pairing on three evenings, Wednesday, Sept. 25, Friday, Sept. 27 and Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. at Bocelli Restaurant. 1250 Hylan Blvd. Doctors from SIUH will serve as "sous chefs." Each course will be from a different region in Italy and at the end of the evening, guests will receive the recipes and a goody bag to take home. The co-chairs are Barbara Strype, president of the Service Auxiliary, and Marie Illuzzi of New York State Women. Admission is $65. For information or reservations, call 718-226-2486 or 718-226-8708. The "sous chefs" on Wednesday, Sept. 25 will be Dr. Arthur Buonaspina, chief of Pediatric Infectious Disease, and Dr. Laurence Langan, gastroenterologist. On Friday, Sept. 27, Dr. Cynara Coomer, chief of Breast Surgery and director of the Florina Rusi-Marke Comprehensive Breast Center, and Dr. Carolyn Raia, associate chairman of Radiology and director of the Breast Imaging Center, will be the chefs. And on Tuesday, Oct. 8, the chefs will be Dr. Graham Ardolic, chairman of Emergency Medicine, and Dr. Theodore Strange, vice president and associate chairman of Medicine.
Proceeds from the event will benefit The Florina Rusi-Marke Comprehensive Breast Center and support scholarships for women awarded annually by the Staten Island Chapter, New York Women.
