SIUH is recognized as a Community Value 100® and Community Value Five-Star® Hospital

Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH), part of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, has been ranked one of the top 100 hospitals in the nation for the second time since 2011 by Cleverley + Associates.

The Community Value Index (CVI) is a comprehensive analysis that measures the hospital’s performance based on the financial strength and viability, reinvestment into the provision of healthcare, cost-effective maintenance, and high quality care with reasonable service fees.

The award is contingent upon the overall value provided to the Staten Island community. The hospital has achieved the Five-Star status for scoring among the top 20 percentile.

“We continually examine our delivery of care to provide the highest quality to the people of Staten Island,” said Anthony C. Ferreri, President & CEO. “This designation reaffirms our commitment to our mission and we are pleased to be recognized as an asset to our community,” he said.

Cleverley + Associates, an Ohio-based healthcare data and consulting service, works closely with healthcare industry leaders to examine, educate and enhance their hospitals’ financial position, in order to better serve their communities.

The hospital’s performance is compared amongst the appropriate peer group, followed by discussion regarding the critical factors that trigger the metrics of the hospital’s financial performance. The combined performance in each area refers to the Community Value Index ® score.
