SIUH's Service Auxiliary's fashion fling Sunday
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Staten Island University Hospital's Service Auxiliary will roll out its annual fashion show on March 10 at The Vanderbilt at South Beach. Physicians, staff and volunteers will model trend-setting outfits on the runway from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and the event includes lunch. Tickets are $60 for adults and $25 for children under age 10. The Vanderbilt is located at 300 Capodanno Blvd. For more information, call 718-226-8305 or 718-226-9799.
Styles from wedding attire to sportswear to children's clothing will be represented, thanks to Ultimate Fashions II, Great Kills; Children's Place, New Dorp and New Springville; Dress Barn, Graniteville; The Garage, New Springville, and Angel's Bridal, Huguenot.
Proceeds will benefit hospital programs and projects. In 2012, the Service Auxiliary helped SIUH purchase medical and surgical support equipment for both hospital sites. Auxilians also donated $6,000 to further a breastfeeding initiative and $2,000 for a bereavement tree for families who lost a child from miscarriage, stillbirth or complications during delivery.
The SIUH Service Auxiliary is the oldest continuous auxiliary in the United States, celebrating its 150th anniversary this year. To kick off this milestone, the Auxiliary will wrap up the fashion show with members of the SIUH family wearing period clothing from Historic Richmond Town.
