The Research Department for Staten Island University Hospital provides administrative support and guidance for research being conducted in the institution. With the mission of promoting research to improve medicine, the Research Department fosters collaboration among specialties and provides resources to investigators.
Staten Island University Hospital has research that is funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants, private foundations, industry and private individuals.
As a member of the Northwell Health System, Staten Island University Hospital is afforded the opportunity to receive essential resources for investigators such as training and professional development, laboratory services and biostatistical support. Northwell Health recently signed an alliance with the Cleveland Clinic to allow for discovery and “to leverage each other’s assets and talents to accelerate the translations of discoveries to the marketplace.”
