Child Preparation Classes - FAQs

Who can register for these classes?

The Expectant Parent and Taking Care of Baby classes were designed for first-time mothers and their partners. The Breastfeeding class is for women who will be breastfeeding for the first time; partners are welcome to attend.

What is the cost for each class?

Expectant Parent Classes: $100 for four weekly sessions Taking Care of Baby: $50 for a one-evening session Breastfeeding: $25 for a one-evening session

What times are the classes held?

The Expectant Parent 4-week series begins at 7:30pm and ends at approximately 9:30pm Taking Care of Baby and Breastfeeding classes begin at 7:00pm and end at approximately 9pm

Both the Expectant Parent Classes and the Taking Care of Baby classes are held on the same day of the week each week. For example, if your first class is on a Monday, each subsequent class will also be on a Monday.

Where will my class be held?

The classes are held in the 2nd floor classrooms of the Regina McGinn Education Center, which is located adjacent to the emergency room entrance. You may also enter through the main lobby if you prefer; take the elevators to the 2nd floor, make a left, and follow the signs. If you enter through the Heart Tower entrance, Security will direct you to the Regina McGinn Education Center.

Will my insurance cover the cost of the class if I submit a claim form?

Upon receipt of payment, a confirmation letter of receipt of payment will be issued and mailed; this letter should serve as proof of payment to your insurance carrier. All insurance carriers have their own procedures and protocols for possible reimbursement; please contact your carrier for this information.

Do the classes need to be paid in advance?

We will accept payment at the time you arrive for your first class.

This will not be my first child. Do you have any classes that will educate my other child/children on the arrival of a new baby in the household and what to expect?

We are sorry, but at this time we do not offer this type of program.
