The Neurosurgery Division at Staten Island University Hospital consists of five senior neurosurgeons, all certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.
The Neurosurgical Service provides current, up-to-date treatment for a variety of neurosurgical problems including brain tumors, spinal tumors, degenerative spinal diseases including discs, perpheral nerve diseases, head injury and pain.
The Neurosurgical Division is equipped with state-of-the-art, cutting-edge technology including microscopy, endoscopy, stereotaxy and intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring.
The neurosurgeons work in close collaboration with dedicated neurologists, neuro-radiologists, neuro-pathologists and neuro-anesthesiologists.
Patients are cared for after surgery in closely monitored quarters under the supervision of intensive care specialists.
