Charles Fasanya, MD
Associate Director of Trauma & Surgical Critical Care

Staten Island University Hospital continues to be on the forefront of Trauma care. Over recent years, the Trauma Service has aimed to fulfill the Hospital Credo: "To serve patient needs with a commitment to high quality care."

The mission of the Trauma Service is to provide rapid stabilization, diagnosis and definitive treatment for any patient brought to the Resuscitation Area.

The Trauma Service is an organizational unit under the Department of Surgery. It supports its own Performance Improvement Program, Mortality and Morbidity Conference, Trauma Registry and various teaching activities.
