Qusai Hammouri, affectionately known to patients and friends as “Dr. Q”, is SIUH's new Director of Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Hammouri's interests are centered on spinal ailments and deformities and acute pediatric trauma. He has many publications to his credit in journals such as Spine and European Spine. He's a contributing author to the Orthopaedic text "Decision Making in Spinal Care" as well as the orthopaedic portion of "Fetal and Neonatal Secrets". Dr. Hammouri has presented his work at numerous national and local meetings and is bringing his surgical talents and passion for pediatric medicine to the children of Staten Island.
Dr. Q completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Yale University. He went on to complete a one-year fellowship in spinal surgery at NYU Langone Hospital for Joint Diseases and a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedics at Columbia University/ Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital.
