HIM CODER/Certified
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of one-year Coding Certification Program or equivalent experience in coding required. One year of coding experience in an acute care setting with a complex Case Mix, and a skill level to perform the job with accuracy required. Credentialed CCS/RHIT is preferred and additional study in health-related field desirable. Excellent knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding principles required.

Clinical Documentation Improvement
"Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist". High school diploma required BS or BA, preferred. Requires 3-5 years experience in the area of coding in order to effectively complete the job. Minimum five (5) years of inpatient coding experience for acute setting. Work requires an in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of medical record administration particularly in the area of coding and DRG’s. This knowledge is usually acquired through completion of an approved program in medical record administration or equivalent combination of education and experience. Credentials as RHIA or RHIT or CCS from AHIMA required.
