The Adult Inpatient Service comprises two units with 64 beds providing care to patients 18 years and older in need of intensive inpatient evaluation and treatment. Typical diagnostic categories include mood disorders, schizophrenia, personality and obsessive compulsive, as well as anyone in a severe crisis situation.
Our staff is multidisciplinary and includes psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, therapists, all of whom are certified in their field of expertise and experienced in acutely ill psychiatric patients. Modalities of treatment include medication management, individual and group therapy, psychoeducation, and activity therapy.
Admission is either scheduled or on an emergency basis following evaluation by psychiatrist who is on site 24 hours/day. Medicare/Medicaid and most private/managed insurances are accepted.
The geriatric psychiatry program provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment for our elderly population, taking every aspect of care into account. Because psychiatric illness in this age group often combines with medical and social problems, we have developed a skilled team of medical professionals including psychiatrists, internists, medical and surgical subspecialists, geriatric nurses, social workers, and activity therapists who are well trained with every facet of care.
Not only do we have the staff to evaluate and treat the full range of geriatric patients, but we have the capability of arranging that care wherever it is needed: in our inpatient unit, outpatient clinics, partial hospital program, or 24 hour emergency department.
