Dr. Jonathan Deitch is an Alpha Omega Alpha honor society graduate of New York Medical College. His surgical residency was completed at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, New York, where he received the Leo Davidoff teaching award.

He performed subspecialty training at Wake Forest Medical Center, North Carolina, where he was exposed to a wide variety of complex aortic and aortic branch pathology, and was then recruited to participate in an endovascular subspecialty fellowship at New York Presbyterian Hospital. Most recently, Dr. Deitch has served as the Chief of Vascular Surgery at SUNY Downstate and Chief of Vascular Surgery at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City.

He is a member of most of the major vascular societies including the Society for Vascular Surgery, Peripheral Vascular Surgical Society, Eastern Vascular Surgical Society, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Southern Association of Vascular Surgery and New York Vascular Surgical Society, where he functions as

an executive council member. He serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery and is on the editorial board for The Open Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Journal. He has numerous peer-reviewed publications and has presented both regionally and nationally.

Dr. Deitch has a clinical interest in aortic pathology, aortic branch and carotid disease. He brings a wealth of experience in the minimally invasive treatment of abdominal and thoracic aneurysms and has significant experience in the field of carotid artery angioplasty and stenting in addition to conventional surgery. He routinely performs minimally invasive procedures for limb salvage. He has trained a large number of surgical residents and fellows in programs throughout New York City. Dr. Deitch has been recognized as a New York Top Doctor as well as one of New York Time Magazine, Super Doctors®.

About us
Welcome to our Vascular Surgery Division, a comprehensive multispecialty surgical practice. We hope that you will find this brochure helpful in acquainting you with our services. Our staff are highly trained and available to help you. They work in close consultation with the surgeon and can help with questions or problems quickly and efficiently. Additionally, the surgeons in our group are fellows in the American College of Surgeons (FACS). Achieving Fellow status means that surgical education, training and experience have been consistent with the high standards established and approved by the American College of Surgeons. Board certified surgeons.

Insurance & Billing
Our practice participates in most insurance plans.  Please verify acceptance of your particular plan with your carrier and/or our staff. Co-payments, deductibles and any other services not covered fully are the responsibility of the patient. We would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Office Hours & Appointments
Our regular office hours are: Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm. Our telephones are answered 24 hours a day and one of our physicians is always on call. Patients are seen on an appointment basis, after referral by a physician. You may schedule an appointment by calling us at (718) 226-6800.

If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call us as soon as possible so we may reschedule your appointment and offer the time to another patient.

Minimally Invasive Abdominal and Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm Repair
Using state of the art equipment and facilities, our surgeons evaluate patients for abdominal aortic aneurysm repair via an endovascular approach. Our surgeons have been fully trained in the techniques of placing aortic stents and are well renowned in the vascular community. This procedure reduces hospital stay and a quicker return to normal daily activities.

Minimally Invasive Vein Treatment Center
Our surgeons are fully trained and offer treatment options for all vein diseases. A comprehensive vein treatment center is offered to our patients including the most recent innovative modalities. Some of the vein treatment options include sclerotherapy and minimally invasive vein surgery endovenous laser (EVLT) and radiofrequency ablation (VNUS). Of course, conventional means of treating varicose veins are also offered.

Minimally Invasive Arterial Angioplasty and Stenting
Angioplasty and stenting for lower extremity occlusive disease is offered for patients suffering from intermittent claudication (pain in calves after walking several blocks), foot ulcerations, or rest pain. This procedure improves the patient’s quality of life while requiring less than a 24 hour hospital stay. We offer a full array of minimally invasive therapies for claudication as well as limb salvage including angioplasty, arterectomy and stenting procedures.

Open Arterial Bypass Surgery for Occlusive and Aneurysm disease
Management of lower extremity occlusive or aneurysmal disease is provided for by our vascular surgeons. Lower extremity bypass with a vein graft or artificial conduit is performed by our highly qualified surgeons. In addition, open repair of abdominal Aortic Aneurysms and Aorta-iliac occlusive disease (blockages in the main arteries) is offered.

Carotid Artery Stenting and Surgery
Screening for carotid disease and stroke prevention by our vascular division. Carotid Endarterectomy is one of the more common surgeries performed by our team. New advances and technologies are offered including carotid stenting and our surgeons have expertise in this field.

Hemodialysis Access Center
Management of the dialysis patient is offered including fistulas, grafts, catheters and balloon maturation of fistulas. Treatment of graft or fistula failures are easily addressed by our vastly qualified surgeons at a state of the art facility.

Vascular Laboratory
Non- invasive vascular laboratory is ICAVL Accredited and provides evaluation of carotid arteries, abdominal aneurysms, venous diseases including deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and venous insufficiency, Peripheral Arterial disease (PVD) and aneurysmal disease, surveillance of bypass grafts, and the renal arteries.
